If you want a two-in-one machine that can automatically empty its own trash bin and sale mops without your intervention, consider this smart option. It also comes with several mapping features, and Alexa integration.
The robot is costly however it’s great for getting rid of dust and spills. It features advanced programming for efficient obstacle avoidance and it can be set up to create zones to vacuum or mop in various rooms.
1. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
This mop and vacuum robot is a combination of a stylish sturdy design with the most recent robotic technology. Its powerful smartphone app helps you keep track of routine maintenance, such as emptying the tiny dust container and cleaning the mop’s pad between uses. It connects to an automatic self-emptying platform which cleans and emptys it after every cleaning cycle. It is among the few robots equipped with these features and it performed very well in our tests.
Roborock has revamped the S8 Pro Ultra compared to last year’s model with a focus on avoiding objects and cleaning power. The result is a cleaner, more dependable machine. It now comes with an improved suction motor as well as two rubber rollers in its floorhead which make it better at taking debris off of carpets and removing pet hair from carpet. The battery can run for up to 180 minutes, and it supports scheduled charging, which can help reduce the amount of electricity consumed.
The robot’s RockDock Ultra docking stations are the most significant change. They go beyond emptying and clean their contents after every cleaning cycle. It also cleans the mop pad and then dries it with warm air. It also refills its reservoir of water. This feature alone sets it apart from competitors, as it greatly reduces the amount of time and effort you need to spend on maintaining it.
In the box it comes with a power cable and S8 Pro Ultra is easy to set up. You will need a Wi-Fi network to download the companion app and pair your docking station with an additional mop pad. You’re now ready to clean.
In our tests, we discovered that the S8 Pro Ultra was able to pick up most of the surface litter as well as embedded dust on medium-pile and bare floors. The power of its vacuum is a bit lower than our top pick, the Roomba j7+ from iRobot, but it’s still a capable and versatile machine that’s worth a look.
The app can be used to create a 3D model of your home, create no-go zones, and schedule specific cleaning schedules. The app also displays a running log of cleaning times and the area covered and lets you see the performance of each room and areas. You can assign a specific cleaning mode to each area. If you own an Echo device or another smart speaker, you can also add voice control using Alexa or Google Assistant.
2. iRobot Roomba j7+
The Roomba j7+ model from iRobot is a great option for those looking for a self-emptying vacuum that also has the ability to mop. This model utilizes iRobot’s Imprint Smart Mapping technology to create an outline of your home, so it can clean your home efficiently possible. Other features include Dirt Detect to focus on messier areas and Reactive Sensor Technology that helps the robot avoid obstacles that block its route.
The j7+, like other iRobot products can be programmed to begin cleaning even when you’re not at home and stop when it’s not finished. It can be controlled by the iRobot App or smart speakers that can support Alexa and Google Assistant. It responds better to voice commands than the majority of other robots and includes the self-emptying Neabot NoMo.
The iRobot Genius App allows you to control the robot with a either a smartphone or remote. It also makes it easy to set up the j7+ and modify other settings. It will guide new users through the process of onboarding to aid the robot in determining their cleaning space and learn about their home.
The j7+ comes with an extra-large dustbin than the majority of the self-emptying robots we’ve tried. This lets it store more debris, but you’ll still need to empty it once every seven to eight months (or more often if you have a lot of pet hair or other heavy debris). iRobot sells filters and bags that can be replaced separately.
Another feature that is worth mentioning is the front camera of the j7+ that is claimed to help the robot recognize dangers like power cords and pet waste and stay clear of them. The camera isn’t able to work so well in dim light, though you may want to consider a rival that has a better camera, such as the Roborock S7 MaxV.
In the end, I was thrilled to find that the iRobot J7+ automatically empties its dust bin into the Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal when it is docked. This is a significant improvement over the majority of competitors that require you to open and empty the bin manually. This small change will help you save time and frustration.
3. Ecovacs Deebot T10 Omni
The Deebot T10 Omni is a sleek robot that delivers impressive cleaning performance. It features 5000Pa suction. It comes equipped with a main floating brush and two-sided brushes that help get rid of dirt on hard floors as well as in corners. It comes with an extremely powerful battery that can be used for vacuuming and mops. If the battery gets low, it can be returned to its dock. Its smart features include a home-map, 3D mapping and automated cleaning schedules.
The T10 Omni, just like other Deebot models, has a separate tank for washing and dry its mopping pad to keep out cross contamination. The T10’s cleaning tank is capable of holding up to 4L of clean water which can cover around 400 square meters. It is designed in a way that it can be filled up and then drained without getting wet or touching the pad.
The T10’s smart mapping technology is one feature that sets it apart from other robot vacuums. It creates a detailed 3D map that shows the layout of your home. This allows the robot to spot obstacles more accurately and adjust its navigation, improving overall cleaning efficiency.
Its smart features also include a high-quality microphone that responds to voice commands and the ECOVACS application is simple to use and offers many customizable settings. It’s only downside is the lack of the remote control. This might be frustrating for certain users.
The T10 OMNI is great at cleaning pet hair. After two cleaning cycles, it was able to take the majority of pet hair from my carpets. It even managed to get around furniture that were blocking its way.
Although it’s not as hands-free as the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the T10 Omni remains an excellent choice for those looking for a best self emptying vacuum-emptying vacuum and mop. Its mops have the same power as the vacuums and has a more attractive design than Roomba. While it does not have a remote control, its smart capabilities make up for this omission. With the app, you can easily start and stop a cleaning process. You can also schedule it, [Redirect Only] and change the settings of the device.
4. Shark ION Extended
Shark’s top self-emptying robot vacuum, the ION XL is an excellent option for those looking for hands-free cleaning that has an outstanding level of performance. The vacuum comes with an enormous bin which can hold the equivalent of a month’s worth dirt, and the base can be programmed to automatically empty it at the end of every cleaning session for storage that lasts longer. The ION XL robot vacuum is one of the most flexible available. It can clean carpets as well as hard floors. You can control the robot using an app or voice commands. You can also create an outline of your home at any time. The robot does an excellent job of maneuvering around furniture and can even navigate stairs and fully-carpeted rooms with ease.
I tested the ION XL in a family and shorl.com kitchen room with hardwood flooring, area rugs and a standard test for debris. It did an excellent job vacuuming and clearing pet hair, debris, and even some of the more difficult to remove carpet crumbs. It also did a great job at getting around my barstools and didn’t get in the way of them like the iRobot J7+ did during this test. The only drawback is that the ION XL can’t detect cords, toys and shoes that are in its path, so you will have to pre-clean your house before using this vacuum if you want it to avoid these things.
The ION XL isn’t as smart as the iRobot J7+, but it is an excellent alternative if you don’t wish to spend more than $500 on cleaning robots. It’s superior to the eufy RoboVac 11S in most ways, including being more easy to maintain and incurring lower recurring expenses. It’s also superior at cleaning floors with no carpet and picking up pet fur, but not as effective on carpets with a low or carpets with higher pile.
It is also not as well-built as the Roborock S8, but it is a great alternative. The ION XL has a large bin capacity, and it can be controlled via an app and voice command, and it is simple to keep up with maintenance. It is also a reasonable price.
